Another new sling confirmed.

Today I have confirmed we will be recieving a brand new Ergo Classic into the library. This is thanks to a generous donation from Ergo Europe.

We have chosen the cranberry colour with a grey infant insert both can be seen here.

New slings

We have lots of lovely new slings coming to us over the next month. The first one to tell you about is a ringsling very generously donated by the lovely people at Pouchlings

Please click on their name above to see their website with a range of carriers. Even more exciting is that they have offered a discount to Isle of Wight Sling Library users (code available from me Emma) and will give us even more slings in the future!

Here is an example of the type of sling we will be recieving:

We are very grateful to Rookley Country Park for offering us their conservatory as a venue for this meeting which will be on Thursday April 26th at the usual time of 10am – 12noon.

I am also happy to tell you that Niki from the Isle of Wight Real Nappy Network will be there too offering advice about real nappies.

February meet

Our February meet will be held at the Westfield B&B toddler group this Friday 24th Feb.  The meet is a drop in session and anyone with an interest in slings is welcome to pop in any time between 10am and 12 noon.

This is the first meet with a fully qualified Babywearing Consultant in attendance – I am so excited to show you all some of the things I learned at my weekend in Southampton!

Just so you know our next meet in April (date and venue to be confirmed) will be our 2nd birthday so I am plotting for fun extras to help us celebrate. Any ideas welcome!

Exciting news

So excited and pleased to announce that next month I (Emma) will be attending a training course with Trageschule UK. At the end of this course I will be a qualified Babywearing Consultant. This extra knowledge will help me deliver even better service to users of the library.
Watch this space for a refreshed library and some more regular meets.

August meet

Our August meet is planned for Friday 26th from 10am – 12noon at St John’s Annex in Sandown.

July meet

Sorry for the short notice but due to personal circumstances the July meet has been cancelled. If anyone wants to try out a sling I am happy to arrange a private consultation. (isleofwightslingmeet@yahoo.co.uk) Sorry for any inconvenience this causes. Emma xx

June Sling Meet

Hi all,

Trying to be organised this month and give you more than one weeks notice :)

So the June meet will be on Friday 24th from 10am – 12noon. As usual it is drop in so come for as much or as little as you like. We are asking for a £1 donation on entry to cover our room hire costs but you are welcome to as much tea and coffes as you like while you are there.

As always sling hire is £5 for one month with a security deposit of £50. (A cheque that is not banked unless required or cash if you don’t have a cheque book.)

For those of you who have one of our slings a gentle reminder that it is due back at 10am to allow for others to try/hire on the day.

Look forward to seeing you there!

May meet

Hi all

Our May meet will be this coming Friday 27th May from 10am – 12 noon, back at St Johns Annex in Sandown. This is a ‘drop in’ type of event so don’t feel you have to be there the whole 2 hours. Feel free to contact me for more information.

Look forward to seeing as many of you as possible there – please bring friends too! Remember we have slings and carriers that suit from newborn babies to toddlers and even pre-schoolers. You can even come along just for the chat and a cuppa. We are asking for £1 in our pot for all adults who attend just to cover our room hire costs.

Birthday party update

I was contacted by the lovely Maggie from Caterpillar Music on the Isle of Wight this evening. Maggie has very kindly – and generously – offered to do ‘a little sing song’ to keep all our party guests entertained at 11am. Please have a look at the website from the link above to see if Maggie has a class near you, she offers a free first class to all newcomers too.
